Ravenhill Herb Farm

Farmers

Jessy Delleman is the resident-caretaker/manager/head-gardener of Ravenhill Herb Farm and founder of Ravenhill Herb Seeds and Miss Mullein’s Herbals. Jessy began managing the farm in 2008 and over the years has developed a deep appreciation and knowledge of growing in the farm’s unique ecosystem. She has slowly renewed and expanded the gardens incorporating organic permaculture practices, while breathing new life and love into the farm.

Jessy has been a gardener/farmer/plant-person since before she learned to walk. As a child in the Yukon she loved to help out in her parents subsistence garden and collect berries and herbs from the wild. Spending time in the precious northern boreal forest as a child instilled in her a lasting connection to the land and nature.

With a background in horticulture, biology, and art, Jessy is also a certified herbalist. She has studied with herbalist Betty Norton, attended the Wild Seed School of Herbal Studies on Salt Spring Island, and is continuing her studies with Sajah Popham of The School of Evolutionary Herbalism, and with herbalist/midwife Aviva Romm. Jessy has been featured on CFAX 1070 and UVIC’s CFUV, as well as BC Organic Grower Magazine for her work at Ravenhill as a herbalist and grower. She loves helping to facilitate the connection between people and plants through her plant walks and workshops on the farm. Jessy is also available for herbal consulations.

Jessy (aka Miss Mullein) lives on the farm with her partner Wil Shulba (a hydrogeologist with a purpose, musician, and all around amazing person), her radical awesome farming-partner Jesse Howardson (aka Miss Finch), three beautiful doggies, two kitties, five goaties, and all the geesies, turkies, and chickies. They all feel very inspired and blessed to live in such a beautiful place!
